Easy Dinner Ideas for Kids

Easy Dinner Ideas for Kids

Dinner should be light and easy on the stomach so that it can be digested. However, making healthy and easy to prepare dinners as well as dishes that your children will like can be tricky.

As a parent, don’t you just run out of ideas when it comes to kids’ dinners? Lucky for you, I have 8 easy recipes that will surely delight!

DINNER IDEAS WITH KIDS

It can be frustrating when your kids opt for a bag of chips when you’ve put so much work into dinner. I used to have a real hard time coming up with dinner ideas that would work for the whole family, especially because my kids are so picky. You know how it goes—try to cook one meal and everybody ends up getting something different on their plate.

Our own meal plans have been a game-changer for our family dinners. Now, we’re excited about them!

8 Best Dinner Ideas

1. Cheeseburger Biscuit Cups

This play on a cheeseburger is fun because it’s served in a biscuit rather than on top of a bun, so you’re actually getting more like a burger in one bite. To make your cheeseburger taste even more delicious, cook the ground beef in mustard, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce and brown sugar. Top it with some melted cheese, and your kids will love what they get!

2. Sloppy Joes

These sandwiches mix up in less than 20 minutes. You’ll be ready to eat them in no time!

This recipe includes ground beef, kidney beans, tomatoes, and spices. It goes well with any kind of bread – from burger buns to loaf bread to dinner rolls

3. Potato chip Frittata

Open the bag of chips and the kids will be running toward you in a flash!

But instead of eating chips as-is, we will use them to add crunch to a fluffy and cheesy frittata. Cheese, eggs and chips – the perfect trio!

4. Corn Casserole

Kids just can’t get enough comfort food, and corn casserole is one of the best out there. It’s nice to know that some recipes are so versatile that you can start with a corn muffin and end up with a certified hit. I usually start by mixing the muffin with creamed corn, topping it with shredded cheddar cheese, and baking it until the cheese has melted and browned.

This casserole is a taste sensation! It’s the sweet, creamy, buttery, crunchy flavor of deliciousness you know and love.

5. Pizzadillas

Pizzadillas are a fun way to eat traditional pizza and quesadillas together. You can add toppings like cheese, pepperoni, mushrooms – all sorts of things!

Place tortillas in a pan, and add your favorite toppings. This is such a fun, tasty meal for kids to prepare themselves.

6. Cheeseburger Pie

Kids love desserts, and what could be better than a dessert with the taste of a cheeseburger? The recipe is easy to follow (it only takes 15 minutes of your time!) and it makes an excellent family bonding activity. You can always use Bisquick mix, but be sure to add some beef, eggs and cheese inside.

Once you’ve made the basic dough, leave the frying to the oven and watch it rise. It’s quick, easy, and kids will love it the most.

7. Lasagna Sandwich

Lasagna sandwiches are a go-to option when I’m craving lasagna and don’t have time to do the work. They take hardly any time to whip up and serve.

You can use any type of bread that is hollowed out and fill it with a rich meat sauce then cover it with cheese. Bake the dish in the oven before eating!

8. Mac and Cheese

I think we can all agree that homemade mac and cheese is much better than boxed.

Mac and cheese never gets old, does it? Especially when it has four different kinds of cheese in it! You might want to make a double batch just to be safe.

Dinner time is always tough, especially when you have a picky eater.

Giving kids a say in what they want to eat can be overwhelming. That’s why meal planning is important. Kids do not like complicated dishes, so keep your recipes simple by using ingredients that they like and that are easily accessible. This way, you can spend less time cooking and more time with them!
